Volkswagen of America, Inc., a unit of Germany's Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) said Thursday it sold 28,412 units sold in November, a 41% increase over prior year sales.

MAIN FACTS:

-Year-to-date sales rose 25% to 291,899 units.

-"November has been a tremendous month for Volkswagen," Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. said.

-The new, 2012 Volkswagen Passat sold 6,018 units in November, while Jetta sales totaled 12,891 units, a 16% increase over last year and the 2012 Beetle sold 1,656 units.
