Interoute Telecommunications Plc, which holds 80 per cent. of the issued share
capital of Interoute Communications France SARL, announces that it has
acquired the remaining 20 per cent. of the issued share capital from its
founding shareholder, Brigitte Sherman, for a nominal consideration.

Brigitte Sherman, Managing Director of Interoute Communications France SARL,
and her husband David, an employee of the Company, have both ceased their
involvement with Interoute Communications France SARL, to enable them to
pursue other activities.

Interoute Communications France SARL will be recruiting a new managing
director in the near future.

Copies of this announcement are available to the public, free of charge, at
the offices of John East & Partners Limited, Crystal Gate, 28-30 Worship
Street, London EC2A 2AH during normal business hours on any weekday (Saturdays
and public holidays excepted) until 7th August, 1997.
