                      Appointment of new Managing Director


Zambezi Nickel ("Zambezi" or "the Company") (ticker: AIM: ZNI) today announces
the appointment of James Kerr as Managing Director of the Company with effect
from 15 January 2007.


James Gavin Kerr (Jim), aged 38, has experience in the exploration of gold,
copper, nickel sulphide, nickel laterite, PGM, diamonds and uranium. James was
formerly Exploration Manager at ASX-listed Oropa Ltd, managing the company's
exploration efforts in Indonesia (gold and copper) and India (diamonds and
gold), prior to which he was Senior Exploration Geologist moving to Business
Development Manager at ASX-listed Mincor Resources NL where he undertook the
evaluation of exploration and mining projects.


Jim is currently a director of the following companies:


Arrowsmith Capital Pty Ltd
PT Sorikmas Mining


There is no further information to be disclosed under Schedule Two (g) of the
AIM Rules.



Commenting today, acting Managing Director Julian Ford said "Jim brings a wealth
of exploration business development experience to Zambezi Nickel.  Jim's energy
and knowledge of the junior exploration sector played a key role in the
development and success of nickel sulphide producer Mincor, and the creation of
