CARLSBAD, Calif., June 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Scientific
Corporation (OTCBB: PTSC) today announced that its joint-venture
entity Phoenix Digital Solutions (PDS) has reaffirmed
representation by Agility IP Law, LLP in pursuit of infringers of
the Moore Microprocessor Patent (MMP) Portfolio™.
"I am extremely pleased that we have solidified our relationship
with Agility," stated Carlton
Johnson, Patriot's representative to PDS. "Agility was
instrumental in our patent infringement win against HTC
Corporation, and we look forward to continuing that success against
other infringers".
Proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District
of California alleging
infringement of Patriot's '749, '890 and '336 patents against
Barnes & Noble Inc., Garmin Ltd., Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.,
LG Electronics, Nintendo Co. Ltd., Novatel Wireless Inc., Samsung
Electronics Co. Ltd., and ZTE Corporation had previously been
stayed. Patriot now expects to move forward aggressively with
these actions.
"We are excited to continue enforcing the MMP Portfolio," stated
Jim Otteson, Founding Partner of
Agility. "We strongly believe that the MMP Portfolio is
fundamental to modern microprocessor design, as demonstrated by our
jury trial victory against HTC Corporation. The HTC win laid
the groundwork, which we plan to leverage against current and, if
necessary, future defendants."
In October, Patriot announced that it had won its patent
infringement lawsuit against HTC Corporation in the U.S. District
Court for the Northern District of California. HTC was found
to infringe multiple claims of Patriot's '336 patent. The
'336 patent is one of several patents that are part of a larger
portfolio held by Patriot, known as the MMP Portfolio.
