NEW YORK, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For the past five years, once a year top tennis players from Poland and of Polish descent meet at the Polish Consulate in its splendid Beaux Arts De Lamar Mansion in Manhattan. On Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 7 pm, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York, Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, will host a players' party for some of US OPEN top tennis stars.

The organizers are expected to greet over 20 players representing not only Poland, but also the countries which their Polish parents had migrated to including, among others: Agnieszka Radwanska – recent winner of the Rogers Cup in Montreal; Urszula Radwanska - winner of the WTA tournament in doubles; semi-finalist of the US Open 2011 and Wimbledon 2012 Angelique Kerber; Caroline Wozniacki – winner of 22 WTA tournaments; Jerzy Janowicz – first Polish Wimbledon Tournament Semifinalist in 2013; Lukasz Kubot – the 2014 Australian Open Doubles champion; Mariusz Frystenberg and Marcin Matkowski - participants of Masters tournament and representatives in the Davis Cup. Other special guests include the two-time Australian Open champion, and master of ceremony, Johan Kriek of South Africa.

The party will feature gourmet Polish & American cuisine, courtesy of AMBER Steak House, and incredible desserts of Charlotte Patisserie, as well as live music by Avalon Jazz Band.
