BUFFALO, N.Y., May 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Highlights - Ecology & Environment, Inc. was recently awarded a $900K contract by TORP Terminal LP to prepare a third-party EIS and provide NEPA support for the Bienville Offshore Energy Terminal (BOET) deepwater liquefied natural gas (LNG) port project off the coast of Alabama. The project involves determining the environmental, social, and economic impacts of construction and operation of an offshore LNG import terminal with a peak throughput of 1.4 billion standard cubic feet per day of natural gas. The BOET facility is unique in that it employs a gas-offloading structure that attaches and becomes part of the ship during offloading operations; through this, it employs a once-through seawater cooling system, which has zero chlorine discharge. Work is underway and is scheduled to run through March 2007. Including this project, E & E currently is working on six LNG terminal projects at various sites in the United States. Ecology and Environment, Inc. is headquartered in Lancaster, New York, a suburb of Buffalo. Its common stock is listed on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol EEI.
