Generali Gets Italian Market Regulator's Green Light for Cattolica Takeover

Assicurazioni Generali SpA said late on Wednesday that Italian
market regulator Consob has given the green light to its takeover
offer for smaller peer Cattolica Assicurazioni SC.
The Italian insurer said the acceptance period is set to start
on Oct. 4 and close on Oct. 29, unless otherwise extended.
As previously announced, Generali is offering a consideration
equal to 6.75 euros ($7.9) a share for Cattolica. It already has a
stake of about 24% in the company.
