The following table lists unplanned and planned production
outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) a hydrocraker unit in the West Plant
at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery was shuttered Wednesday by a
small, brief fire. The company does not yet know when the unit will
be restarted. An SMR unit also shut following the fire is expected
to restart Saturday.
Sunoco Inc. (SUN) said Tuesday that it will indefinitely idle
its Eagle Point refinery located in Westville, NJ. The process will
take four to six weeks.
Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) Tuesday restarted two unnamed units that
were unexpectedly shut Saturday at its Torrance, Calif.,
refinery.
Frontier Oil Corp. (FTO) cut throughput at its 130,000 barrels a
day El Dorado, Kansas, refinery by 51% in October to 58,000 barrels
a day, down from 118,000 barrels a day in the previous month due to
planned maintenance on the FCCU and gofiner unit. Its 48,000
barrels a day Cheyenne, Wyo., refinery is expected to process
44,250 barrels of crude oil a day in Oct, from 40,200 the previous
month.
Total SA (TOT) said a Powerstation cogeneration turbine was
reduced to its lowest firing rate early Thursday due to a leaky
exchanger at its Port Arthur refinery.
BP Plc (BP) Wednesday shut a power station boiler at its Texas City, Texas Plant for seven days.
Citgo Petroleum Corp delayed the restart of the alkylation unit
that was involved in a near-fatal explosion on July 19. The unit
will is now expected to return to service by the end of the month,
sources close to the plant's operaitons said Tuesday.
Tesoro Corp. (TSO) said Tuesday that it expects to restart a
coking unit at full rates in mid-October after a fire caused it to
shut down last month.
