Euronext in Talks With Cassa Depositi to Make Bid for LSE's Borsa Italiana

Euronext NV said Friday that it is in talks with Cassa Depositi
e Prestiti to submit an offer for the acquisition of Borsa Italiana
from London Stock Exchange Group PLC.
Exchange operator LSE Group in July said it was in exploratory
talks to sell its interest in Italian fixed-income trading market
MTS SpA--or potentially the Borsa Italiana as a whole--in order to
satisfy the European Commission regarding its own deal to acquire
data provider Refinitiv.
Euronext said a further announcement would be made as and when
appropriate.
Earlier this week, media reports indicated Euronext was
preparing a bid for Italian stock exchange Borsa Italiana that
could be valued at $4 billion.
