Brazilian Real Gains From 1-week Low Versus Greenback

After touching a 1-week low of 1.8060 by about 9:00 am ET, the
Brazilian real ticked up against the US dollar in New York
afternoon trading on Friday. The real advanced to 1.7740 versus the
greenback at about 2:05 pm ET, compared to 1.7880 hit late New York
Thursday. At present, the pair is worth 1.7785.
Friday, Brazil's statistical office IBGE said in a report that
the industrial production decreased 7.2% year-on-year in August.
Economists expected a decline of 7.3%.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose a seasonally
adjusted 1.2% in August, faster than the 1.1% rise expected by
economists.
For the January to August period, industrial production fell
12.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
