At Analytica 2014, Bruker (NASDAQ: BRKR) today announced new
product introductions and enhancements for improved performance and
customer experience in research, industrial and applied markets.
These very latest innovations complement the wide range of product
announcements that were just recently presented at Pittcon 2014
(www.bruker.com/news/pittcon/pr-pittcon-2014). Designed to increase
sensitivity, improve specificity and maximize productivity, the new
Bruker products introduced at Analytica 2014 include:
Bruker's new multiscale X-ray
nanotomograph SkyScan 2211 (Photo: Business Wire)
FTIR spectrometer TENSOR™ II: The compact research-grade
FTIR spectrometer TENSOR II replaces the very successful
TENSOR 27/37. The TENSOR II is well suited for
advanced FTIR applications in R&D due to its high sensitivity
and flexibility. It is also useful in routine applications for QC
and material verification due to its compact size and comfortable
workflows. The high quality of the TENSOR II is not only
expressed by its high specifications but also by the further
extended life time of all components.
EM27/SUN spectrometer for atmospheric measurements: The
new compact spectrometer EM27/SUN for atmospheric
measurements by solar absorption spectroscopy utilizes the
innovative camera-based feedback system CAMTracker following the
sun as light source. The EM27/SUN provides a robust design,
relatively low weight, and an intuitive user interface. It is
portable and hence suited for long-term measurements in remote
areas with little infrastructure.
Ascend™ Aeon 400 – 800 WB magnets: Bruker is further
expanding its proprietary, fully integrated, Aeon™ active
Helium refrigeration option to wide-bore (WB) 89 mm magnets. Four
800 MHz WB magnets with LHe reliquefaction, and without liquid
nitrogen, have already been accepted at customer sites, and perform
well.
M6 JETSTREAM™: This unique new large-format
micro-X-ray fluorescence (micro-XRF) spectrometer provides a scan
range up to 800 x 600 mm2 and scanning speed up to 100 mm/s. The
instrument is designed to analyze the elemental composition of
large objects on-site in a single run with spatial resolution
between 100 and 500 µm. With the M6
JETSTREAM, Bruker now serves applications from QA/QC in
automotive, aerospace and other industries, to geological surveys
for natural resources, to art and conservation.
SkyScan™ 2211: The new multiscale X-ray nanotomograph
SkyScan 2211 covers a wide range of object sizes and
spatial resolutions in one single instrument. It opens unique
possibilities for 3D imaging and exact modeling of geological
materials in oil and gas exploration, composite materials, fuel
cells and electronic assemblies. The instrument allows scanning and
3D non-destructive reconstruction of internal microstructure of
objects as large as 200 mm in diameter, as well as submicron
resolution for small samples. The extremely fast hierarchical 3D
reconstruction software speeds up imaging internal microstructures
10-100 times compared to traditional or GPU-accelerated micro-CT
algorithms.
S2 RANGER™ with XFlash™ V5 LE: Using the new
XFlash V5 LE SDD detector, the S2 RANGER X-ray
spectrometer achieves superb light element performance and
analytical precision for applications in cement, minerals and
mining, petrochemistry, and research. With a larger detector area
the spectrometer achieves higher sample throughput and lower
detection limits. A further highlight is its light element
performance from carbon upwards, and gaining a factor of 8 in
intensity for sodium compared to traditional instruments.
Frank Laukien, Ph.D., President and CEO of Bruker Corporation,
commented: “At Analytica 2014, we continue our Innovation with
Integrity tradition to enable the success of our customers. With
compact, easy-to-use, affordable, yet high performing products, we
gain access to broader markets and expand our presence in quality
control, applied and industrial markets, while maintaining our
excellent reputation in the scientific research community.”
