This new probe, based on the specifications of the Home Phone-Line Networking Alliance (HPNA), is specially designed for the characterization of HPNA deployments and triple-play services in FTTx environments. The residential home network is the new frontier for service providers offering triple-play services (voice, video and data). To deliver a positive triple-play experience to the end user, service providers must ensure high quality of service (QoS) and effective home network bandwidth management to maintain reliability for their services. HPNA technology is being deployed by service providers as it provides the reliability and performance needed to deliver bandwidth-intensive triple-play services.
