Small, Simple, Powerful 14.5-inch System Offers Coverage Comparable
to 18-inch Antennas along with Integrated 12-volt Receiver for
DIRECTV Service With today's introduction of its new TracVision(R)
M3 marine satellite TV system, KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI)
shows the boating world that great things can come in small
packages. The TracVision M3, the world's smallest stabilized marine
satellite TV system, is ideal for installation aboard vessels as
small as 25 feet and offers everything a boater needs to enjoy
DIRECTV(R) programming at sea. It includes the TracVision M3
antenna, an integrated 12-volt marine receiver for DIRECTV service
and easy installation, and an RF remote control for convenient
operation. The TracVision M3's super-efficient, 14.5" antenna
offers a rugged design, precision tracking, and coverage range
comparable to larger 18" antennas, crystal-clear proof that less is
more. "The TracVision M3 is powerful technology made simple," said
Ian Palmer, KVH's executive vice president of satellite sales. "It
brings together all of the features boaters have been asking for in
a small, simple-to-install, easy-to-operate system that offers
outstanding offshore coverage. The TracVision M3 is the first
stabilized satellite TV system designed specifically for vessels in
the 25-40 foot range. Until today, marine satellite TV antennas
have been too big to look good on smaller vessels or have had
designs limited to at-anchor or coastal use. The addition of the
TracVision M3 to our award-winning product line now enables us to
offer maritime satellite TV solutions for consumers cruising on
boats of virtually any size." The new TracVision M3 is fully
automatic, connecting boaters to more than 300 channels of DIRECTV
programming, including 50+ channels of XM satellite radio music,
when cruising along the coast and as far as 200 miles offshore. Its
powerful motors are extremely quiet yet are responsive enough to
keep the TracVision M3's antenna locked onto the DIRECTV satellite
even aboard small vessels, which present a far more challenging
dynamic environment in rough seas than larger boats. The system's
high-efficiency 14.5" antenna is contained within an
impact-resistant dome 40% smaller than competing 18" antennas, and
requires only a single cable for easy installation. Also included
in the TracVision M3 package is KVH's exclusive 12-volt marine
satellite TV receiver for DIRECTV service, making it easy to
connect the system directly into the vessel's 12-volt power supply
and eliminating the need for home receivers that are ill-suited for
the marine and 12-volt environments. For added convenience, the
TracVision M3's remote control uses an RF signal, rather than the
IR signal standard to home receivers, allowing the remote control
to change channels even if the receiver is safely and stylishly
tucked away in a cabinet or stateroom closet. The system is also
fully capable of supporting multiple TVs and receivers throughout
the vessel so everyone will be able watch or listen to the
programming they enjoy. "It's time to put away the DVDs and welcome
live DIRECTV programming onboard almost any boat," concluded
Palmer. "The TracVision M3 offers a complete turnkey solution to
enjoying satellite TV at sea, with everything you need in a single,
small package that offers outstanding coverage and the performance
consumers and marine dealers have come to expect from KVH and our
TracVision systems." Complete details regarding the TracVision M3
