WatchGuard's innovative LiveSecurity support package WatchGuard
Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WGRD), a leading provider of Unified
Threat Management (UTM) solutions, announced the most comprehensive
all-in-one UTM hardware and security services package for the
small- to medium-sized business on the market today. The new
offering, based on the recently introduced Firebox X Core e-Series,
helps eliminate the time and hassle associated with deploying
multiple security solutions by combining components that work
cooperatively together -- in one convenient package. The UTM bundle
combines WatchGuard's flagship Firebox X Core e-Series UTM
appliance with the company's robust security services, which
include Gateway AntiVirus / Intrusion Prevention with anti-spyware,
spamBlocker, WebBlocker and LiveSecurity support. By offering a
packaged solution set, WatchGuard is making it easier for resellers
to provide their customers with more complete protection from the
varied and pernicious threats coursing across the Internet today.
End-users will also benefit as the deployment of multiple security
services is made much easier, now only requiring a single license.
"WatchGuard has seen both reseller and customer demand for enhanced
security solutions that can be rolled out and managed in a simple
manner," said David Ridout, WatchGuard vice president of sales.
"Our UTM bundle combines powerful, unified security with increased
convenience and streamlined administration, at a competitive price.
Unlike other vendors abandoning hardware-based security, WatchGuard
remains committed to providing the most comprehensive,
multi-layered defense against network attacks, which includes
highly secure hardware appliances combined with a suite of
integrated services." The Firebox X Core e-Series appliance uses
WatchGuard's unique Intelligent Layered Security with its powerful
proxies that proactively block malware to provide Zero Day attack
prevention from new and unknown threats. WatchGuard's Gateway
AV/IPS engine stops malware not detected by proxies. spamBlocker
blocks unwanted email in real time, including new image-based
threats. WebBlocker boosts productivity by blocking undesirable
URLs and Web content that adversely affect productivity and may
also infect a network with malicious code. And the cooperation of
security functions means less network degradation than competitive
offerings. WatchGuard's ground-breaking LiveSecurity Support
package includes security experts, consultants and engineers that
continuously monitor the network security landscape, provide
ongoing education with training, user forums, Web chats, editorials
and breaking threat alerts, in addition to software updates,
technical support and hardware warranty expected from a support
organization. Innovative educational tools -- such as SecurityWise,
which provides easy-to-understand network security training
sessions, and video 'cubecasts' that address prevalent security
threats in an informative, actionable manner -- set WatchGuard's
support apart. Combining the appliance, robust security
capabilities and ongoing educational and support services into a
single unit allows WatchGuard customers to benefit from a complete
and comprehensive security solution right out of the box. Pricing
and Availability The new WatchGuard UTM bundle starts at a US MSRP
of $4420 for the Firebox X550e, and is available immediately. About
