Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL)(NYSE:FSL.B) is showcasing an array of advanced applications and platforms for the automotive community at the annual Telematics Update Show, May 23-24, 2006 in Detroit. The automotive embedded processor leader is unveiling semiconductor products, reference designs and ecosystem tools at Telematics Update that enable developers to work smarter and faster in designing next-generation embedded systems. Freescale's live demonstrations will showcase infotainment, navigation, wireless technologies, mobile multimedia and more. Freescale's Media5200 Development System provides automotive tier one manufacturers and OEMs with an optimal platform for rapid development of new multimedia and Infotainment product applications and solutions. At the heart of the Media5200 Development System is the MPC5200B, which contains a PowerPC(R) core, a cost-effective high-performance processor targeted specifically to in-vehicle infotainment and telematics systems.
