MILWAUKEE, July 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson
Controls announced today it has named Michael Bartschat Vice President of the Johnson
Controls Operating System (JCOS) in addition to his current role as
Chief Procurement Officer, reporting to Chairman and CEO
Alex Molinaroli.
In this new role, Bartschat will lead the majority of the
functions in the JCOS, including engineering, procurement,
manufacturing, supply chain, and environment, health & safety.
He will also have overall responsibility for the continuous
improvement and real estate functions.
"The Johnson Controls Operating System drives efficiency and
excellence across the enterprise, leveraging best practices across
all of our functions," said Molinaroli. "Mike has played a critical
role in improving our procurement and supply chain functions. In
this expanded role he will help us move to the next level across
our operations."
Bartschat succeeds Jeff Williams,
who has moved on to lead the company's Buildings business in
Europe, Middle East and Latin America.
"I want to personally thank Jeff for his leadership in building
enterprise capabilities in several key areas, most especially
operations and engineering. He has established a solid foundation
upon which Mike will build," said Molinaroli.
Bartschat, who joined Johnson Controls in 2004, has held various
leadership roles at the company. In addition to his role as chief
procurement officer, he is also the integration leader for the
merger between Johnson Controls and Tyco. In that role he has been
responsible for realizing growth opportunities and delivering the
value inherent in the combination of the two companies.
Prior to being named CPO, Bartschat served as group vice
president and general manager of product group metals and
mechanisms in the company's Automotive Seating business. Before
that, Bartschat led the global product group trim and fabrics,
driving the expansion of this automotive business into Asia. Earlier in his career, Bartschat held
roles in operations and plant management, marketing, strategic
planning and engineering. He also holds a U.S. patent in
robotics.
Bartschat holds an MBA from Harvard
Business School, a master's degree in mechanical engineering
from MIT and a bachelor's degree in
mechanical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon
