MOSCOW --Chairman of Russian conglomerate AFK Sistema (AFKS.RS)
Vladimir Yevtushenkov wants the country's no. 1 telecoms company
Mobile TeleSystems (MBT) to become a global operator, he told state
Russian channel Rossiya-24 Tuesday.
Mr. Yevtushenkov said he "strategically" wants the company to
expand its scope of work beyond the former Soviet Union
republics.
He did not specify which countries he has in mind for MTS's
expansion but said that it is not prepared to expand "at all
costs," especially given that the "golden days of telecoms" are
over.
