- Extends PE industry polymer and
processing boundaries
- Features new Exceed™ XP for extreme
toughness and seal performance
- Demonstrates Varex II machine equipped
with TurboClean technology
ExxonMobil and Windmller & Hlscher (W&H) are
collaborating at K2016 to demonstrate how the combination of new
Exceed™ XP – when eXtreme Performance
matters -- polymers and machine technology intelligence can
enable 5-layer film solutions that provide innovation opportunities
for brand owners and packaging film converters.
“By sharing knowledge and collaborating for more than 15 years,
we continue to expand industry boundaries by applying unrivaled
polymer and process technologies. At K2016, we are pleased to be
showcasing our new performance polymer film formulations on
W&H’s latest Varex II extrusion equipment,” said Dirk Van der
Sanden, global processing and converting advisor, ExxonMobil
Chemical.
“Varex II is equipped with innovative TurboClean quick film
formulation change-over technology which allows production lot
changes in a matter of minutes,” said Martin Backmann, R&D
division manager, Windmller & Hlscher.
Demonstrating this unique and value-added processing flexibility
at its booth (Hall 17/A57), W&H will run and change two 5-layer
POD (polyolefin dedicated) films using TurboClean technology. This
technology has the ability to change-over from one prime production
lot to another, significantly minimizing off-spec transition
material, which helps to address a major issue for film processors.
The machine will produce a food packaging film produced using
Exceed™ XP performance polymers, which exhibit extreme toughness
and excellent seal performance—helping producers and brand owners
protect and preserve food longer.
The machine will then change to a collation shrink film,
produced using Enable™ 4002 performance polymer, which offers high
holding force and high transverse direction (TD) shrink for
exceptionally tight bundling to keep products secure.
These new performance polymers are part of ExxonMobil’s
commitment to helping customers achieve sustained business growth.
It is by sharing knowledge and working in collaboration across the
value chain that creates differentiated solutions for applications
when extreme performance matters.
