DTE Energy Employee Fund Drive Raises More Than $206,000 for Michigan Charities

DETROIT, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy employees and the DTE
Energy Foundation gave more than $206,000 to Michigan charities
during a six-week holiday fund-raising drive. DTE Energy employees
donated $103,677, which the Foundation matched with an additional
$102,477. The funds were distributed in December to a variety of
nonprofit human services organizations. The DTE Energy Foundation
matched employee gifts dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000 per person.
Fifty-four nonprofit organizations statewide benefited from the
fund drive, including: -- Salvation Army, multiple locations
statewide. ($40,000) -- Capuchin Community Center, Detroit.
($26,200) -- Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan,
Detroit. ($19,300) -- Coalition on Temporary Shelter, Detroit.
($13,800) -- St. Martin's Lutheran Church Mid City Nutrition
Center, Port Huron. ($12,000) -- Forgotten Harvest, Oak Park.
($5,100) -- Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County, Ann
Arbor. ($4,370) -- Turning Point, Inc., Mt. Clemens. ($3,300) --
Monroe County Food Bank, Monroe. ($2,300) The DTE Energy Foundation
is the philanthropic arm of DTE Energy, continuing the legacy of
community support and involvement of its principal operating
subsidiaries, Detroit Edison and MichCon. The Foundation directs
its contributions to nonprofit organizations under its "LEAD"
guidelines: leadership, education, environment, achievement,
development and diversity in the DTE Energy service territory,
which includes southeast, western and northern Michigan. These
guidelines are extended to include matching gifts to human services
organizations during the company's annual holiday gifts program.
