("Home Capital" or "the Company") (TSX: HCG) today announced it has
filed a final short form universal base shelf prospectus (the
"Prospectus") with the Securities Commissions in each of the
provinces and territories of Canada, with the exception of Quebec. The Prospectus qualifies offerings of
up to $750 million of securities over
a 25-month period.
The Prospectus is not a commitment to undertake any financing,
nor does the Company have any current intention of offering
securities from treasury under this Prospectus. The Prospectus was
filed to satisfy Home Capital's obligations under the registration
rights agreement entered into with a subsidiary of Berkshire
Hathaway Inc. and to provide the Company with financing flexibility
going forward.
