TORONTO, Oct. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - Redline Communications
(www.rdlcom.com) Group Inc. (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of
mission-critical wireless networks for the oil and gas industry,
announced today that it has received a $1M contract for the first phase of a wireless
network that will connect people and machines across an entire
oilfield in Argentina – improving
productivity, efficiency and worker safety.
Once fully deployed, this new network will bring a ubiquitous
umbrella of connectivity, converting the customer's field operation
into a truly digital oilfield. Redline's wide-area wireless Virtual
Fiber™ solution will be the backbone that connects hundreds of
multipurpose Wi-Fi hotspots distributed across a large geographic
area as well as providing connectivity for remote monitoring of
well heads and collection and separation facilities. The Redline
network delivers enough capacity to carry all of this operator's
voice, data and video traffic on a single backbone, giving
employees and contractors access to corporate systems from
anywhere, delivering real-time drilling applications, and providing
M2M connectivity for remote monitoring and management of
assets.
"Delivering a multi-purpose wireless network across a wide area
in rugged terrain is not an easy task," stated Louis Lambert, vice president of oil and gas
sales for Redline. "Redline couples powerful network solutions that
were designed specifically for oil and gas with deep industry
knowledge and superb technical expertise to satisfy the most
demanding customers."
Redline will be partnering with a local telecom service provider
who owns some of the licensed spectrum to be used in the
network. In addition to network products, Redline will be
providing a range of technical services including RF planning,
network architecture development, network design and engineering.
This first phase is expected to be fully operational in early
2015.
Redline's Virtual Fiber™ wide-area wireless network solutions
are designed for the most challenging locations and
mission-critical applications. Redline couples powerful and
reliable wireless technology with a deep knowledge of oil and gas
to deliver a single secure and reliable network infrastructure that
is powerful enough to simultaneously accommodate the distances,
capacity and the many application types required for the digital
oilfield - including voice, video, SCADA, M2M, Wi-Fi or other
data.
With a proven track record that includes dozens of successful
large scale digital oilfield, Redline, an ISNetworld™ member
company, is not just an expert in wireless mission-critical
networks, but also in turnkey wireless network delivery for oil and
gas, with purpose-built products and oilfield-ready, HSE-certified
professionals. Redline's end-to-end solutions for oil and gas
include planning, engineering and delivery services which combine
with ruggedized products to deliver a complete network solution
that can operate effectively throughout the entire life cycle of an
oilfield.
