ZoomMed Signs an Agreement with Desjardins Insurance, the First
Insurer in Canada to Work with an Electronic Prescriber
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb 17, 2014) - ZoomMed Inc.
(TSX-VENTURE:ZMD) (the "Company" or "ZoomMed") is pleased to
announce that it has signed an agreement with Desjardins Insurance
for the development and operation of a project focusing for a
web-based solution to integrate selected insurance plan information
into the ZRx Prescriber to provide physician users with information
while they are entering prescriptions on their PC, tablet or
smartphone.
"This agreement is another significant stride in the right
direction for the company and its shareholders, adding a new major
stakeholder of the healthcare sector to ZoomMed's communication
network. We are very proud to partner with such a prestigious
organization as Desjardins Insurance", said Yves Marmet, President
and CEO of ZoomMed.
''Through this project, we intend to improve our plan members'
client experience and help them save money with more cost-effective
treatment options, 60- to 90-day prescription refills and by
providing their physicians with their insurance plan information.
This innovative approach will also reduce the risk of errors and
speed up the prior authorization process,'' said Nathalie Laporte,
Vice-President of Product Development and Marketing for Group and
Business Insurance at Desjardins Insurance.
About ZoomMed
The Company builds and operates "ZoomMed's communication
network", a clinical information exchange platform between
physicians and the various other stakeholders of the healthcare
sector, such as pharmacists, specialists, pharmaceutical
corporations and private insurers.
The cornerstone of this network is ZoomMed's "ZRx Prescriber", a
technological innovative Web application that greatly simplifies
the writing of a prescription for the physician. Since it is a
stand-alone product, it can easily be integrated to any Electronic

The Company also offers "PraxisLab", a new cloud based pharmacy
management software that enhances all aspects of the prescription
filling process and the complete pharmacy patient file
management.
