Bayer AG said Tuesday that it appointed Christian Rommel as the
new head of research and development at its pharmaceuticals
division, effective from Feb. 1.
The German pharmaceutical and chemical conglomerate said Mr.
Rommel will succeed Joerg Moeller, who decided to leave the company
effective Dec. 31 to pursue other career opportunities.
Mr. Rommel will serve on the pharmaceuticals executive committee
and report to Stefan Oelrich, the division's president and a member
of the board of management.
Prior to joining Bayer, Mr. Rommel served as senior vice
president and global head of oncology research and early
