                           BETA VIETNAM FUND LIMITED

                          DELAY IN CALCULATION OF NAV


Further to the announcement dated 14th June 2002, the Board of Directors of Beta
VietNam Fund Limited ("BVNF" or "the Fund"), wishes to advise that they are in
discussions with the consultant referred to in that announcement and Indochina
Asset Management Limited, the Company's Investment Advisor, to determine the
appropriate value of unlisted investments that the Company owns.  The Directors
of the Company will release an NAV during the first two weeks in August and
monthly thereafter.
