Norway's Statoil ASA (STO) said Saturday it has started
production on the Valemon gas and condensate field in the North
Sea, using its first unmanned platform that will be remotely
controlled from shore.
Condensate from Valemon will be piped to Kvitebjorn for
processing, and from there to Mongstad, while gas will be sent to
Heimdal for processing, and then transported to the market.
Recoverable reserves from the field are estimated at 192 million
barrels of oil equivalent.
