Notification of initial holding on implementation of Transparency Directive



In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 8 we
would like to notify the market of the following initial notifications received
from substantial shareholders prior to 20 March 2006 in relation to interests in
redeemable participating preference shares of the Company with voting rights ("
Shares"):



-          On 20 January 2007 Schroders plc advised the Company that it had
indirect interests in 3,996,611 Shares classified as US Dollar Shares, being
8.348% of the voting rights of the US Dollar share class of the Company.



-          On 22 January 2007 Rathbone Brothers plc advised the Company that it
had indirect interests in 2,335,545 Shares classified as Sterling Hedged Shares,
being 10.28% of the voting rights of the Sterling Hedged share class of the
Company.
