("Shefa Yamim" or the "Company")
Shefa Yamim announces bulk sample results at its Kishon
Mid-Reach Project
Largest precious stone recovered: Sapphire 5.52 carat, Carmel
Sapphire(TM) 4.86 carat
Shefa Yamim (LSE: SEFA), a precious stone exploration company in
Northern Israel, is pleased to announce the results from bulk
samples BS-1212, BS-1227 and BS-1226, part of a fourteen bulk
sample exploration campaign to determine a resource estimate for
gem and other heavy minerals in Zone 1 of the Kishon Mid-Reach
project. A total of 744.8 carats ("ct") of heavy minerals were
recovered from 1,485 tonnes (t) of basal gravels with an overall
heavy mineral grade of 50.1 ct per one hundred tonnes ("cpht"). The
largest stones recovered were a 5.52 ct Sapphire and a 4.86 ct
Carmel Sapphire(TM).
Bulk Sample Highlights
-- 5.52 ct Sapphire recovered from bulk sample BS-1227
-- 4.86 ct Carmel Sapphire(TM) recovered from bulk sample BS-1212
-- Variety of gemstones recovered is consistent with previous
bulk sample results making Shefa Yamim a multi-commodity
company
Commenting on the results, Avi Taub, CEO of Shefa Yamim,
said:
"These results firmly support the potential of the Kishon
Mid-Reach project. Shefa Yamim's uniqueness lies in the
multi-commodity precious stones found so far, our suite of precious
stones truly differentiates us from our competitors. The Company
has now processed some 6,010 tonnes from a total of 6,386 tonnes of
bulk sample material sampled by Shefa Yamim. Recent upgrades at our
processing plant in Akko will allow us to process the remaining
stockpile more rapidly. The company will report the remaining
results in due course."
Bulk Sample Details:
Bulk samples BS-1212, BS-1227 and BS-1226 are the tenth,
eleventh and twelfth bulk samples to be processed from Zone 1 of
the Kishon Mid Reach exploration area. The samples consisted of
535t, 551t and 399t of basal gravels respectively. Shefa Yamim has
identified a target mineral assemblage (TMA Suite: Target Mineral
Assemblage) with two sub categories; the DMCH Suite consisting of
Diamond, Moissanite, gem Corundum species (sapphire, ruby and
Carmel Sapphire(TM)) and Hibonite and the HIM Suite consisting of
the heavy industrial minerals: garnet, ilmenite, zircon and
rutile.

Although the Carmel Sapphire(TM) is the dominant gem mineral in
most of the Zone 1 bulk samples to date, the southernmost bulk
samples of BS-1226 and BS-1227 have returned higher sapphire values
than the Carmel Sapphire(TM) (Table 1). In BS-1227 the recovery of
55.3ct of sapphire was the highest for a single bulk sample to
date, whilst the individual sapphire recovered weighing 5.52ct was
close to the largest ever discovered by Shefa Yamim which was
5.72ct.
In these last 3 bulk samples, the grades for the DMCH were in
line with prior bulk sampling results while, unusually in the case
of BS-1212, the DMCH suite of minerals was more prevalent than the
HIM suite. The concentration of minerals in these samples confirms
the nugget effect in heavy mineral concentration expected in this
alluvial deposit. The variation in overall grades is also in line
with what might be expected for a placer with semi mobile
trapsites. The TMA was represented by all minerals except for
diamonds which have only rarely been found in the Kishon Mid Reach
area.
