    TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES
             



On 30 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 374,000 GBP
shares at a range of prices from GBP 8.785 to 8.89  (the
"Transaction")

On 30 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 532,000 EUR
shares at a range of prices from EUR 8.86 to 8.8  (the "Transaction")

On 30 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 154,000 US$
shares at a range of prices from US$ 9.05 to 9.10   (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
374,000 of its GBP issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued GBP shares of the Company to 23,470,328. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
532,000 of its EUR issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued EUR shares of the Company to 50,414,396. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
154,000 of its US$ issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued US$ shares of the Company to 38,066,955. (the
"Transaction")

Following the Transaction, there are now in issue (to the exclusion
of those held in treasury) 45,789,776 EUR Shares, 36,117,560 US$
Shares and 21,302,908 GBP Shares.  The total number of shares held in
treasury are 4,624,620 EUR Shares, 1,949,395 US$ Shares and 2,167,420
GBP Shares.
