Thyssenkrupp AG (TKA.XE) on Friday promoted Premal Desai to
chairman of the executive board of its European steel division.
Mr. Desai was previously chief financial officer at the
division.
The German company said that its European steel business's Chief
Executive Andreas Goss will resign as of June 15 following a failed
plan to merge the business with that of Tata Steel Ltd.
(500470.BY). The company said last month that it was in talks with
Mr. Goss to end his contract.
Thyssenkrupp said Heribert Fischer will also leave the steel
board on June 15, but that he will stay on with the European steel
division as an advisor. Bernhard Osburg was promoted to chief
commercial officer of the business and will join its executive
board.
Thyssenkrupp's steel board will only have four members from now
on, the company said.
