Program will include mentorship, career development and
educational opportunities for individuals across the country
JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute
resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that
applications are now being accepted for the 2024 JAMS Diversity
Fellowship Program. The deadline for applications is May 24, and
the application can be found here.
The Diversity Fellowship Program is a 12-month program designed
to offer the full breadth of JAMS’ resources to emerging ADR
professionals who have demonstrated resilience and excellence on
their path to a career in the field. The program will provide
training, mentorship, sponsorship and networking opportunities to
up-and-coming ADR professionals, with the goal of increasing
pipeline opportunities in dispute resolution.
Now in its third year, the Diversity Fellowship Program is
accepting applications from individuals across the country who have
a diverse perspective as a result of their adaptability, cultural
fluency, resilience and life experience. In addition, attorneys
with at least 10 years of litigation experience, academics with an
ADR background or those with other industry-specific experience are
encouraged to apply.
“We are pleased to expand the JAMS Diversity Fellowship Program
to interested applicants nationwide this year. This program was
conceived to support ADR professionals from different backgrounds
and provide each Fellow with the knowledge, mentorship and
networking opportunities to help open new doors for them,” said
Joanne Saint Louis, JAMS director of diversity outreach. “We
believe that the Diversity Fellowship Program will equip each
participant with valuable tools that will support their career
growth. We look forward to reviewing this year’s applications and
welcoming in a new class of Fellows.”
The Diversity Fellowship Program began as a pilot program in New
York in 2021. In 2022, it expanded to provide fellowship
opportunities to ADR professionals in New York, Chicago, St. Louis
and Los Angeles. This year, it is available to professionals across
the country.
Beyond mentorship and shadowing opportunities, selected Fellows
will receive multifaceted support ranging from workshops on how to
launch and build their own practice to marketing and networking
opportunities. The Diversity Fellowship Program can accommodate the
schedules and needs of individual Fellows.
More information about the program can be found here.
Testimonials from previous Fellows can be found here.
