Data security company Covata (ASX: CVT), industry partner NSC
Global and leading telecommunications company T-Systems today
teamed up at CeBIT Germany to launch Safe Share™ to the European
market.
At a time when cloud computing and data security is of the
utmost importance in Europe, Covata’s Safe Share enables businesses
to safely share their data with confidence by encrypting it at the
source, before it is stored in any cloud.
Safe Share provides adaptive control over who can access the
data and how it can be used; as well as delivers visibility into
whom, when and how many times data has been accessed. Securing
data at its source provides ultimate flexibility over how data is
shared inside an organization and even across untrusted networks
and devices.
The launch of Safe Share as a service is targeted at T-Systems
clients, including the top 400 enterprise companies and a further
7000 medium-to-large sized companies that sit within Deutsche
Telekom’s customer base. These companies together employ more than
6 million staff who will be able to subscribe to Safe Share to
protect, control and secure their data in the cloud.
Safe Share is anticipated to be available for purchase by April
2015.
Head of ISV IaaS GTM at T-Systems Ralf Hülsmann, said,
“Our focus is on providing cutting edge cloud solutions and we
believe Safe Share is a product which will give our customers peace
of mind that their data is protected.
“There is high demand for a European hosted, controlled and
regulated encrypted file sharing solution amongst our enterprise
customers. Today at CeBIT we are excited to talk about how we are
making data security more affordable and accessible with Covata
Safe Share.”
Yaseen Khan, CEO NSC Global, said, “Safe Share is one of
the top secure file sharing products available on the market and
the T-Systems sales force are leading the way in Europe by bringing
data security to the forefront of their discussions with
clients.”
Covata CEO Trent Telford echoed these sentiments:
“Leading Managed Service Providers (MSPs) across the globe are
offering holistic IT solutions to their customers as they guide
them into cloud adoption. T-Systems have chosen Safe Share to add
security to and enhance their current stellar suite of business
offerings.
“European companies, understandably, have become increasingly
wary of US domiciled technology and cloud companies due to the
geopolitical business fallout resulting from the PRISM program.
Covata, an Australian licensed product being provided through a
European-hosted MSP means these businesses have complete ownership
of their data.
“Safe Share is what many European companies have been waiting
for to shift to cloud file sharing.”
