Telecommunications companies bidding for 5G frequencies in
France have committed to 2.79 billion euros ($3.27 billion), French
telecoms regulator Arcep said Thursday.
Arcep said the main auction for band frequencies from 3.4
gigahertz to 3.8 gigahertz closed, with a further auction to be
held in October to establish how frequencies for each winner will
be positioned within the band frequencies.
Bouygues SA's Bouygues Telecom, Iliad SA's Free Mobile, Orange
and Altice Europe NV's SFR took part in the bidding process, Arcep
said.
The regulator said it would award licenses for the band
frequencies after the positioning auction in October.
