ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) (www.adc.com) today announced that Kirkwood Community College of Cedar Rapids, Iowa has deployed ADC’s InterReach® Fusion in-building wireless system to provide outstanding mobile coverage and capacity at its new teaching hotel and conference center. The conference center hosts hundreds of guests at meetings and events, while the four-story hotel provides first-class lodging for guests as well as serving as a real-world lab for students in the college’s five Hospitality Arts programs. Now, users of AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon will be assured of strong, high-capacity wireless services within these buildings.

“We wanted the hotel to deliver a four-star experience for guests, and having seamless in-building mobile phone service is part of that experience,” said Mark Zuber, telecommunications specialist at Kirkwood Community College. “The ADC system gives us the coverage to support guests anywhere in the hotel while delivering the capacity to support hundreds of simultaneous callers in the conference center.”

Deployed over a two-month period in time for the hotel’s grand opening, the ADC distributed antenna system (DAS) and remote access units are placed throughout the 4-story hotel and conference center. In addition, the Fusion system’s fiber-based connectivity makes it easy for Zuber and his team to expand the system to other campus buildings.
