Automatic Data Processing Inc. reported higher fourth-quarter revenue and profit.

ADP's revenue was $3.74 billion, up 11% from $3.38 billion a year earlier. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting $3.68 billion.

Net earnings at the company were $538.2 million, up from $411.5 million a year earlier. Earnings were $1.26 a share, up from 96 cents a share previously.

Adjusted earnings were $1.20 a share. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting $1.14 a share in adjusted earnings.
