TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. (AMTD) said its U.S brokerage firm
will eliminate commissions for its online exchange-listed stock,
ETF and option trades, effective Thursday.
The company expects the move to reduce revenue by about $220
million to $240 million per quarter.
The move follows Charles Schwab Corp.'s (SCHW) announcement that
it would end commissions for online stock trades.
