Bruker Daltonics Inc. today announces that Sebastian Meyer-Plath
has been appointed as the Company's Vice President for its Nuclear,
Biological and Chemical (NBC) detection business, effective
immediately. Mr. Meyer-Plath will be responsible for Bruker
Daltonics' global NBC detection business including strategy,
marketing and sales management, its world-wide distribution
organization, as well as other aspects of the NBC detection
business. He will also be a managing director (Geschaeftsfuehrer)
of Bruker Daltonik GmbH with management responsibility for the
Bruker Daltonik operation in Leipzig, Germany. Mr. Meyer-Plath had
originally joined Bruker in 1993, and held several project and
product management positions, both in NBC detection and the
life-science systems business. In 2002, he joined life science
start-up business Advalytix AG in Germany. A year later, Mr.
Meyer-Plath joined Smiths Detection as Vice President of Sales
& Marketing for UK and international defense markets, based in
the U.K. He holds a degree in biology from the University of Bonn.
