Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise
time and frequency technologies that accelerate the deployment and
enable the management of next generation networks, today announced
that four of the companys packet network synchronization experts
are invited speakers at the 6th International Telecom Sync Forum
(ITSF) to be held November 4-6, 2008 at the Hilton Munich City,
Rosenheimer Strasse 15 in Munich, Germany. Additionally,
Symmetricom will exhibit its end-to-end carrier-class PackeTime
solutions providing Precision Time Protocol (PTP) IEEE 1588 and
Network Time Protocol (NTP) capabilities for next generation
packet-based networks. Telecom operators recognize that they must
bring the same high level of quality assurance consumers have come
to expect in the circuit switched network environment to the packet
based environment, commented Gurdip Jande, senior vice president
of marketing at Symmetricom. As service providers evolve to an
IP-based architecture, Symmetricoms carrier-class PackeTime
solutions are delivering next generation network-ready
synchronization that is critical for a host of applications. ITSF
2008 brings together service providers, network operators, system
integrators, equipment vendors and enterprise users to meet with
experts in the field of synchronization. The following timing and
synchronization experts from Symmetricom are presenting: Lee
Cosart, Senior Technologist Cosart holds several patents in
measurement algorithm development and mathematical analysis for a
variety of test equipment. He has served as chair, contributor and
editor for committees responsible for network synchronization
standardization for the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry
Solutions (ATIS) and the Telecommunication Standardization Sector
(ITU-T). Synchronization Measurement and Analysis: TDM and Packet
Networks Wednesday, November 5, 9:00 a.m. CET George Zampetti,
Chief Scientist Zampetti provides technical leadership in
innovative clock platforms, new primary reference clock designs and
new timing protocols. He holds multiple patents in the arena of
synchronization technology. Suitability of Packet Timing Metrics
in Real Applications Wednesday, November 5, 10:00 a.m. CET Hartmut
Roth, Managing Director and ITSF steering group member Roth manages
Symmetricoms Telecom Solutions Division in Europe, Africa and the
Middle East. He has extensive experience in synchronization and
time and frequency with a particular focus on GPS disciplined
primary reference systems. GENERATE: PRS, Protocols &
Distribution Technologies Wednesday, November 5, 4:15 p.m. CET Tim
Frost, Principal Technologist and ITSF steering group member Frost
is a renowned industry specialist on next generation
synchronization techniques. He has presented papers at ITSF 2005
and ITSF 2006. The Distribution of Precise Time Over Packet
Networks Thursday, November 6, 3:00 p.m. CET Product Showcase
Symmetricom will demonstrate its carrier-class PackeTime PTP IEEE
1588 family of products to facilitate cost-effective wireless
backhaul, including the TimeProvider 5000 IEEE 1588 v2 Grandmaster
Clock, the TimeProvider 500 Translator for the access network and
the TimeProvider 1000 edge clock. The company will also show its
PackeTime NTP SSU2000 platform and server blade, providing the
performance, scale, availability and security that assure high
Quality of Service (QoS) content delivery of next generation
network applications, highly dependent on carrier-class NTP. For
