Long Life Filtration System is an innovative, patented system that
does not have to be replaced for at least 150,000 miles, or longer
than the normal life of most vehicles. The auto industry's first
original equipment zero-maintenance long life filter, this air
induction system contains a reticulated foam filter that traps more
than 300 grams of dust, salt, moisture and other corrosives. It
delivers a 150,000- to 200,000-mile filter life, eliminating
theneed for replacement filters. "Visteon is truly honored to be a
PACE award winner," said Ed Lyghtel, plant manager of Visteon's
Sandusky plant. "I am particularly proud of our people. Their
dedication and teamwork are major contributions to Visteon's
ability to deliver innovative new products to its customers." Larry
Duncan, shop chairman for United Auto Workers Local 1216,
congratulated the Sandusky workers for their role in the award.
"This is an example of what Visteon can achieve through
thecollaboration of innovative product development and a quality
work force," Duncan said. Long Life Filtration was introduced last
year on the Ford PZEV Focus for sale in California, Massachusetts
and New York, where automotive emission regulations are stricter
than those established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
PZEV stands for Partial Zero Emission Vehicle, which is one of
several levels of lower-emission vehicles recognized by the
California Air Resources Board. The PZEV Focus is now available in
all 50 states. This unique system solution reduces manufacturer
warranty costs associated with air filter service and can save
consumers as much as $150 or more over the life of the vehicle.
Because this system doesn't require regular maintenance attention,
there is a great deal of flexibility in packaging the system within
the vehicle. The entire air induction system could be placed in
another section of the vehicle, freeing up valuable space near the
engine. Visteon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter J.
Pestillo also commended the company's product development and
manufacturing teams for winning the PACE award. "This demonstrates
our ability to listen to our customers, then bring together our
engineering and manufacturing resources to deliver
industry-advancing innovation in a fast, flexible and flawless
manner," Pestillo said. The Automotive News PACE Award recognizes
supplier innovation in process and product. The awards are designed
to recognize companies in theautomotive industry that have
delivered innovation to meet the needs of automakers and consumers.
This is the second time in the last three years that Visteon

prestigious industry award. Visteon Corporation is a leading
full-service supplier that delivers consumer-driven technology
