Monroe Plant's Veterans' Wall honors the men and women who have
served in the armed forces and worked for the plant, including
active, retired, and deceased employees. More than 200 names are
engraved on bronze plates and displayed on the wall, which is made
from oak. "We're excited about the opportunity to honor our past,
present and future employees by showing them that we appreciate the
work they've done to protect our freedom," said Monroe Plant
Manager Bruce Jacobson. The tribute wall was initially discussed as
part of the 1999 local agreement between UAW Local 723 and Visteon,
and signed during the 2003 negotiations. "This Veterans' Wall is a
labor of love for all of us at Monroe," said Bob Cebina, UAW Local
723 president. "It shows what we can accomplish together, when the
union and the company work collaboratively toward a common goal."
