Access to the Centurion Lounge network is exclusive to American
Express Card Members, and a key complimentary benefit for Platinum
Card Members as part of a suite of benefits that help make travel
more seamless.
Once in the lounge, its range of amenities allows Card Members
to enjoy an all-inclusive haven in the airport. The lounge includes
complimentary:
- World-class food from local James Beard
award-winning Chef Michelle Bernstein
- Beverages from renowned Mixologist Jim
Meehan
- Spa treatments from exhale® spa,
including massages and manicures
- Dedicated work spaces with high-speed
wifi and plenty of power outlets
- Cozy semi-private nooks
- Soundproof kids play area
“At any given time, a large number of our Card Members are
likely traveling in and out of MIA, whether they’re leaving home,
visiting, connecting domestically or passing through on the way to
Latin America or the Caribbean,” said Lisa Durocher, senior vice
president, Consumer Charge Cards & Benefits at American
Express. “We designed this lounge to reflect the vibrancy of Miami,
with great food, entertainment and plenty of ways to relax. Whether
traveling for work or pleasure, Card Members will find a retreat in
the lounge.”
Lounge Features Miami-Centric Menus by Chef Michelle
Bernstein
American Express is working with a James Beard award-winning
chef to create custom, local menus for the lounge. Chef Michelle
Bernstein, Chef/Owner of Cena and Crumb on Parchment and Chef of
Seagrape in the Thompson Miami Beach hotel, will bring her locally
inspired, seasonal menus to The Centurion Lounge in Miami. The menu
is complemented by Miami-inspired cocktails crafted by celebrated
mixologist Jim Meehan and wine selections by wine director Anthony
Giglio.**
“What I love about joining The Centurion Lounge is that we’re
elevating airport dining by creating a restaurant-like culinary
experience,” said Chef Michelle Bernstein. “I didn’t design a menu
for an airport; I designed a menu that has the same passion,
quality and South Miami flavors that I serve locals and visitors
every day.”
Chef Bernstein’s custom menu, which will rotate regularly for
variety and seasonality, includes fresh and light items like
watermelon salad and cool minty pea soup, as well as comfort foods
like her signature fried chicken and vanilla bean panna cotta
dessert.
Amenities & Features within the Lounge
The Centurion Lounge in Miami includes several unique features
that pay homage to the city’s reputation for design, most notably a
floor-to-ceiling textural wall resembling a wave that gives a nod
to the city’s coastal vibe. Like its sister locations, the lounge
features artwork by Rock Paper Photo, highlighting iconic
entertainment and music moments from Miami.
Entry to The Centurion Lounges is complimentary for consumer,
Business and Corporate Platinum Card and Centurion® Members, and
their immediate family or up to two travel companions. Other
American Express Credit and Charge Card Members may purchase a
one-day pass at The Centurion Lounge for $50**.
The new lounge in MIA joins locations in Las Vegas McCarran
International Airport (LAS), Dallas/Fort Worth International
Airport (DFW), New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and San
Francisco International Airport (SFO). In the coming weeks,
American Express will also introduce The Centurion Studio in
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
