Eni SpA said Tuesday that it has made a significant oil
discovery on the Eban exploration prospect in CTP Block 4 offshore
Ghana.
The Italian oil-and-gas company said the well is the second one
drilled in the block, following the Akoma discovery. It is located
approximately 50 kilometers, or around 30 miles, off the coast.
According to preliminary estimates, the Eban-Akoma complex has a
potential of between 500 million and 700 million barrels of oil
equivalent, Eni said.
CTP Block 4 is a joint venture formed by Eni and partners Vitol,
GNPC, Woodfields and GNPC Explorco.
