Norway's Statoil ASA (STO) said Thursday that with partner Total
(TOT) they have made a gas and condensate discovery in the Julius
prospect in the King Lear area of the North Sea.
Statoil estimates volumes in Julius are between 15 million and
75 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.
It is expected that the King Lear volumes will stay within the
previously communicated range of 70 million-200 million barrels of
recoverable oil equivalent.
Following the results of the Julius well, the partnership will
start working on a plan for a development of the discovered
resources, it added.
