Scapegoat is something I do not have the capacity to entertain.

Nuclear power discussion is used as a deterrent amongst america as we are so far behind....unless we are going to introduce a new source? I don't think this is the case as splitting atoms still appears to be on the forefront of the future.

I sold excess. I will buy more.

South Korea scraps plans for new nuclear power plants

Korea Electric Power (KEP -3.1%) is sharply lower after South Korean Pres. Moon said the country will scrap plans to build new nuclear power plants and halt operation of the country’s oldest reactor, a major shift for a country that generates nearly a third of its energy needs from atomic energy.

South Korea's 25 nuclear reactors ranks as the world's sixth largest fleet, but concerns over nuclear safety have intensified after Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011 and a major earthquake in Korea last year.

Kepco will prepare a plan by 2019 to decommission the Kori-1 reactor, a process expected take at least 15 years and cost 643.7B won ($568M), according to the Energy Ministry.

RobinT, if you have a time machine then now would be a good time to share. We can go back in time, invest and even party on Halloween while we're at it. All joking aside, I still believe there is plenty of meat on the bone here with Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEP). (KEP) is 108% below BVSP. These gaps really worry me though. If there is a pull back, I believe it would be closer to 30%. Though with the momentum with (KEP) it's hard to speculate. I have noticed lately that foreign equities, specifically Asian equities have a hefty premium. This might be that next expensive Asian stock.

No.... Guess they got their act together without telling us? Oh well, if their reports give good reason for success then a pull back of 15-20% might be a good entry point.....

RobinT, I apologize for the late reply. I have been busy with college studies. This is very good due diligence, thank-you for that. I agree with all that you have said. I see potential here, but will keep an eye on Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEP). I would not be interested until I see profit, I see a definitely see this as a buy if their test results come positive and they decide to close nuclear power plants.

Kep. Wrote it on my mobile. The gist if it was: read an article that said the losses Kep has had of late are because the govt was setting the price for the power below what it cost to create and deliver it. Also the backlash from the Japan nuclear plant disaster was making them rethink their nuclear plan.... They had "temporarily " shut down their reactors. (Which create cheaper power ) and didn't know when or if they would restart them . There was concern about fraud in testing somewhere (japan) which made them want to investigate their test results. These uncertainties and the give price control (below cost) have made me put this on a back burner from an investment standpoint. Also decommishing a reactor would cost a huge amount.

RobinT, thank-you! I'm currently searching for undervalued foreign equities. The brokerage company I use has a diversification model, I chose an aggressive strategy. Being a young investor, I noticed that a significant amount of my portfolio should be holding international equities. I'm not ready to make this change in my portfolio at this time, but I wanted to get a head start. I'm currently finding these equities and adding them to my watch list. I need to understand how to read foreign SEC filings before I make this change. I find them difficult to understand.

When you form an opinion, please share once you come to a conclusion. I would be interested to see what you find. It is always important to be weary of investments that are undervalued by a significant amount such as Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEP). Even more reason to be weary is that this company is foreign. Extra steps must be taken to downsize your risk. Though I believe if due diligence leads you to invest here, then this could be a great investment.

S&P Capital IQ just upgraded they're rating to 4 stars. If you can get ahold of the report, it's an interesting read. Scottrade offers it on their website.
