The chef who redefined Japanese cuisine now has his sights set on
adding a decidedly fresh twist to the Caribbean dining experience.
A green glowing archway at Atlantis, Paradise Island resort
declares that Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa has officially opened
the doors to his newest Nobu outpost - the first in The Caribbean.
In both atmosphere and menu, Nobu at Atlantis blazes a new trail
for the renowned chef, infusing his cutting-edge Japanese style
with a Bahamian influence. The result is a distinctly sophisticated
urban experience with a progressive island vibe. Incorporating
local island ingredients, stand-out dishes such as Conch Ceviche,
Lobster Ceviche and Nobu Style Cracked Conch join a profusion of
Nobu's signature Japanese delicacies including Yellowtail with
Jalapeno, Tiradito Nobu Style, Lobster with Wasabi Pepper Sauce and
Black Cod with Miso. The exceptional main course fare is
complemented by an open sushi bar and a one-of-a-kind sake cellar.
"When I first visited Atlantis, I knew it was the perfect setting
for a Nobu dining experience," said world-class master chef, Chef
Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa. "A sense of adventure imbues everything
at Atlantis and I was inspired to capture this spirit with a
gastronomic adventure of my own." "Nobu is truly one of the great
pioneers of the culinary world. The new restaurant space is
dramatic, the dining experience almost theatrical and, without
question, there is an air of celebrity that surrounds the
restaurant, adding new dimension to Atlantis by night," said George
Markantonis, President and Managing Director, Kerzner International
Bahamas. "Nobu is another great addition to our collection of world
class chefs and restaurants which are literally transforming the
Bahamas into a fashionable and sought-after dining scene." The
stunning, 7,100-square-foot space was designed by the Rockwell
Group, using traditional and modern Japanese elements and
inspiration. Ash, river stones, branches, woven textiles and
fishing baskets are juxtaposed with more man-made ideas of light
and composition in order to create a rich and spectacular dining
space. Once inside, a large glowing bar, presided over by a wall of
backlit bottles, provides casual seating for dinner guests and a
hot spot for those looking to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail.
Nearby, a backlit onyx sushi bar offers guests the opportunity to
watch the art of sushi preparation. Towards the back of the space,
a private dining room is defined by floor to ceiling artwork of
Japanese cherry blossoms. It is the sake cellar, however, that is
the hidden jewel of Nobu at Atlantis. This intimate twelve-person
dining area is located inside a domed tower, where guests can enjoy
dinner in a room lined with sake bottles and windows providing
breathtaking views of the marina. Over 700 bottles of Nobu's
exclusive sake adorn the walls and encase the diners. Located off
the Atlantis Casino, Nobu is the signature restaurant of The Royal
Towers and serves dinner nightly while the sushi bar and the lounge
stay open later for guests who savor the nightlife. Guests are able
to order from the menu or have their waiter guide them through
Omakase - Chef's Choice. The multi course Omakase allows diners to
experience the essence of Nobu's cuisine. For reservations, please
