LyondellBasell Industries N.V. on Monday said it has tapped
Peter Vanacker to succeed Bhavesh Patel as chief executive,
plucking him from Finnish oil refiner Neste Corp.
Plastics, chemicals and refining company LyondellBasell, which
in August announced Mr. Patel's plans to retire at the end of the
year, said Mr. Vanacker would join no later than June 2022 upon
completion of the notice period under his employment agreement with
Neste, where he has served as president and CEO for three
years.
Neste announced Mr. Vanacker's pending departure last week.
LyondellBasell said Kenneth Lane, executive vice president of
global olefins and polyolefins, will serve as interim CEO upon Mr.
Patel's retirement.
