Spanish Government Decrees Banks, Not Clients, Will Pay Mortgage Tax -EFE

--The Spanish government on Thursday decreed that banks, and not
clients, will have to pay the stamp duty tax on mortgages, reports
EFE.
--The decree follows confusion about who had to pay the tax
after a Supreme Court ruled this week that clients were responsible
for paying the tax, reversing a previous ruling from October that
it was in fact the banks' responsibility. Up until now, it was
clients who paid the tax.
