China Southern Airlines Co. (1055.HK) plans to buy 10 aircraft
from Airbus Group (AIR.FR) for a combined list price of $2.27
billion.
The latest deal comes shortly after China's biggest airline by
fleet size said it and 51%-owned unit Xiamen Airlines Co. agreed to
buy 110 aircraft from Boeing Co. (BA) for $10.1 billion, as they
look to increase capacity.
Guangzhou-based China Southern said in a Wednesday filing that
the planes have list prices of US$227.36 million each. The
medium-haul aircraft, which will be delivered between 2017 and
2019, are expected to increase capacity by about 4%.
