Flann McKinnon Named Vice President of Sales for Value Network
Regional, multi-market advertising distribution network launched
February 2005 LOS ANGELES, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Flann McKinnon
has been named vice president of sales for Value Network, a
regional, multi-market preprint advertising distribution program
launched earlier this year by six newspapers in Southern California
and Nevada. McKinnon will be responsible for managing Value
Network's ad sales efforts, and will support the ad sales staffs at
the six Value Network newspapers. Value Network's "one order, one
bill" program allows advertisers to purchase preprint advertising
in multiple markets and reach nearly seven million households
weekly in the newspapers' combined distribution area. Participating
newspapers are the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Los Angeles Times, The
Orange County Register, The Press-Enterprise (Riverside, Calif.),
The San Diego Union-Tribune and Ventura County Star (Ventura,
Calif.). McKinnon will be based at California Community News' (CCN)
printing and distribution facility in Irwindale, Calif. CCN
provides a range of typesetting, printing, packaging and pre-print
distribution services for several newspapers including the Los
Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune. "Flann is a seasoned
sales veteran and a valuable addition to the Value Network team,"
said Scott Whitley, advertising director for the San Diego
Union-Tribune and chairman of the Value Network oversight
committee. "Her tremendous knowledge of preprint customers' needs
will be an asset to the Network as we continue to develop and
implement our sales strategy in an increasingly competitive
market." "Our success in growing Value Network depends on how
effectively we work as a partner with participating retailers and
on providing an extremely high level of customer service," said
McKinnon. "Traditionally, advertisers have had limited choices for
cost-effective preprint distribution programs in the region-wide
geographic footprint covered by the Value Network. However, through
Value Network, we can make purchasing and execution of a preprint
campaign much simpler, more effective and more efficient." Since
2002, McKinnon had served as director, media operations for Vertis
Media/TNN in Sacramento, Calif. There, she managed the media
advertising sales department and was responsible for the office's
existing client base. She also was actively involved in the
company's new business development efforts. McKinnon joined The
Newspaper Network in 2000 as an account coordinator and was
promoted to sales supervisor in 2002. In 2003, The Newspaper
Network was acquired by Vertis Media, a leading provider of
targeted advertising, media and marketing services. McKinnon began
her advertising career in 1993 at the Sun-Sentinel newspaper in
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. A native of Florida, she attended Florida
State University. DATASOURCE: Value Network CONTACT: David Garcia
