As Aristocrat Group Corp. (OTCBB: ASCC) works to launch its new brand management division, Aristocrat Brands, into the luxury-goods stratosphere, the company is turning to the branding experts for help: superstars of the music and film industries.

As vodka and other premium distilled spirits rake in more profits than ever before, celebrities are no longer simply product pitchmen—they’re active stakeholders in top liquor brands. In recent years, music superstar Sean “Diddy” Combs pulled down $100 million to redevelop and promote the Ciroc Vodka brand. Hollywood celeb Dan Akroyd found success launching his Crystal Head vodka, and younger stars such as Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull are following suit.

“These days, celebrities are partners, equity owners and even designers of top vodka brands and other spirits,” said ASCC CEO Cindy Morrissey. “No longer satisfied to just be front men, they want an ownership share of company profits in this recession proof industry. Their creative energy carries an authentic connection with consumers, and if the product and performer are a good fit, success is inevitable.”

That’s why celebrity branding power is a big part of ASCC’s plan for success, too. The company is reaching out to popular stars to potentially partner with for the design and launch of its forthcoming premium vodka and spirits line.

Vodka is America’s top-selling liquor, with sales accounting for nearly a third of the country’s total distilled spirits market. Demand is so strong, in fact, that despite the recession, sales actually grew by 13.9 million cases between 2004 and 2009 to reach 58.4 million, according to a report last year by just-drinks and IWSR.

With these favorable conditions in mind, ASCC sees vodka as the key element to growing its brand management business. The success of the endeavor will allow the company to compete in a highly profitable sector alongside Limited Brands, Inc. (LTD), Proctor & Gamble (PG), New York & Company, Inc. (NWY) and Chico's FAS, Inc. (CHS).
