Bayer AG said Wednesday that Norbert Winkeljohann will become
chairman of its supervisory board effective Apr. 28.
Mr. Winkeljohann will succeed Werner Wenning who has been with
the company for more than 50 years and became board chairman in
2012, Bayer said.
Mr. Wenning had originally planned to step down last year but
was asked by the supervisory board to extend his mandate "in view
of the company's situation at that time," according to Bayer.
Mr. Winkeljohann has been a member of Bayer's supervisory board
since May 2018. The supervisory board proposed former TUI AG Chief
Financial Officer Horst Baier for Mr. Winkeljohann's soon-to-be
vacant board seat.
